About the hotel

A historic building on Nybroviken quay

Radisson Collection, Strand Hotel, Stockholm is located at Nybrokajen 9 in central Stockholm and belongs to Radisson Hotel Group's premium line Radisson Collection. The building was constructed in 1912 and the hotel has welcomed guests in the same property ever since. The façade and common areas bear distinct characteristics from the early 1900s, whilst the interior has been updated with Scandinavian materials and contemporary design language.

The location is one of the hotel's most notable features. The building sits directly on Nybrokajen with Nybroviken in front and the Royal Dramatic Theatre as its nearest neighbour. Kungsträdgården underground station is nearby, making the hotel accessible both on foot and by public transport. The National Museum and Modern Museum on Skeppsholmen are within walking distance of the hotel, making it a natural starting point for those wishing to visit several of the city's cultural institutions during the same stay.

The hotel is entirely non-smoking. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 12:00. Reception is open 24 hours and offers express check-in, express check-out and luggage storage for guests arriving early or departing late. Parking is not available in the hotel's own premises; the nearest parking option is a car park adjacent to the hotel for a fee of 591 kronor per day. Pets are welcome. The hotel is Green Key certified, which means the business actively works to reduce energy and water consumption, sorts and recycles waste, and has eliminated single-use plastic in daily operations.

Room categories with varying sizes and views

The hotel has 170 rooms and suites divided into several categories with notable differences in size and view. Individual Room is the smallest category at 14 square metres and is intended for one guest. Collection Room is 16 square metres and accommodates up to two guests. Collection Superior Room is 26 square metres and can accommodate up to three guests. Junior Suite City View is 32 square metres with city views and accommodates up to two guests. Suites with sea views are also available for those who prioritise views over Nybroviken.

All rooms are equipped with flat-screen TV, minibar and tea and coffee facilities. Free Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel. Room service is available. Those who prioritise views over Nybroviken should choose a higher room category, as the basic rooms do not offer sea views. The difference in floor space between the different categories is notable and relevant for longer stays or for those who want a separate work area during their stay. Connecting rooms may be available upon request for groups wishing adjacent but separate rooms without booking a suite.

Breakfast buffet is served daily and costs 335 kronor for adults and 168 kronor for children. Breakfast is not automatically included in the room rate unless otherwise agreed at booking, which is worth checking in the booking terms before payment is made. Coffee and tea are available in the hotel's common areas throughout your stay.

ISSEI Stockholm and Bar Charles: two dining venues with different characters

The hotel has two distinct dining venues, each with its own clear profile. The restaurant ISSEI Stockholm specialises in Nikkei cuisine, a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cooking where Japanese cooking techniques meet Peruvian ingredients and flavours. The restaurant serves lunch on weekdays and dinner daily, as well as brunch on Saturdays. Strand Stockholm is the hotel's all-day dining and bar concept with views over Nybroviken and offers Swedish specialities and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The concept appeals to both hotel guests and outside visitors and has a character suited to everything from a quick lunch arrangement to a longer dinner visit.

Bar Charles is the hotel's rooftop bar and is located on the hotel's upper floor with panoramic views over Djurgården, Strandvägen and the city skyline. The bar serves carefully crafted cocktails and light bites but not full dinners. It is seasonal and particularly active during the summer months. The bar operates mainly without table reservations, but for groups of six or more, tables can be booked in advance, which is practical during peak season when the bar is popular in the evenings.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate as standard and is charged separately according to the prices stated at booking. Other food and beverage services at the hotel's dining venues are always charged separately. The hotel is Green Key certified and actively works on sustainability issues in daily operations, including eliminating single-use plastic and monitoring energy and water consumption on an ongoing basis.

Meetings, fitness and bicycle hire in a central location

The hotel has four meeting rooms equipped with audiovisual technology. The rooms can collectively accommodate up to 40 participants, making them suitable for smaller conferences, workshops and internal meetings rather than large-scale events. In addition to the dedicated meeting rooms, the Strand Stockholm restaurant can be used as an event venue for dinners and banquets with a larger group. A business centre is available for guests who need to handle administrative matters during their stay, which is a practical function for business travellers with varying schedules and a need to print or handle documents on site.

The fitness centre is open 24 hours and is included in the hotel's facilities at no extra cost, which is an advantage for guests with irregular schedules. The hotel also offers bicycle hire, a practical option for those wishing to move around the central districts around Östermalm and Djurgården without relying on public transport. A sauna is available in the building; other wellness services may be available for a separate fee and should be requested at check-in or in advance to avoid misunderstandings about what is included.

The hotel's location on Nybrokajen provides good access to public transport via Kungsträdgården underground station nearby. The National Museum and Modern Museum on Skeppsholmen can be reached on foot along Strandvägen. For those travelling by car, parking costs 591 kronor per day in a nearby car park, as the hotel does not have its own parking on the property.
