Quality Hotel Globe continues to be called that on Strawberry’s official hotel page, where the location next to Avicii Arena is confirmed. It is our clearest option when you are travelling to Stockholm primarily for the event and want to minimise travel around the arena visit.
The advantage is the simplicity before and after the concert. The compromise is that you choose the arena location over staying in the middle of the districts where you might want to spend the rest of the weekend. Check what you actually save in transport compared to the total room price for the event date.
Clarion Stockholm for a weekend around Skanstull
Clarion Hotel Stockholm is located at Skanstull in Södermalm. The location and connection to the underground are shown in the hotel’s information. It is our option for those who want to combine the concert with restaurants, walks and other activities in Söder.
You will then need to plan the arena trip as a separate part of the evening. Check current traffic and allow time for queues when many people leave at the same time. The advantage is that the next day’s programme can start in Södermalm, without you first needing to change area to feel that the city weekend has begun.
Hilton Slussen for the combination of Söder and Gamla Stan
Hilton Stockholm Slussen is located in Södermalm near Slussen and Gamla Stan, according to Hilton’s own presentation. It is the option to consider if you want to spread the weekend across both these areas and see the concert as one of several programme points.
The trade-off is clear: you prioritise the entire weekend’s base over the easiest journey home from the arena. Therefore check both transport after the concert and next morning’s departure. It is unnecessary to optimise only one of them if the other becomes awkward.
Book around the event, not around an approximate time
Check the organiser’s current entrance, admission and rules before your visit. Plan dinner with time to spare and investigate what applies for luggage storage before check-in. If the concert is postponed, the hotel booking’s cancellation terms do not automatically follow the ticket’s terms. Choose flexibility when it matters to you.
If you are travelling with several people, it is also wise to agree on a meeting place if you lose each other after the performance. Do not base the entire plan on everyone being able to fit in the same taxi immediately. With a shared backup plan, the journey home becomes less stressful regardless of which hotel you choose.
