About the hotel

A converted office building from 1946 at Bromma Airport

Best Western Plus Sthlm Bromma is a hotel located in Bromma, just outside Stockholm. The hotel is housed in a building constructed in 1946, and the restaurant's name Bistro 46 is taken directly from that construction year. It is therefore not a newly built hotel but a converted property, which is reflected in the floor plan and the varied room sizes between categories.

The hotel's location is directly connected to Bromma Stockholm Airport, which is in immediate proximity to the property. Bromma serves domestic and some European destinations, not Arlanda, which means the hotel is best suited for travellers with connecting flights via Bromma, conference participants and those seeking an alternative to city centre hotels with easy access to parking. Free parking is available directly outside the entrance, and for those with electric vehicles, charging stations are on site.

Bromma Blocks shopping centre with shops and restaurants is within walking distance of the hotel, and the nature reserve Judarskogen can be reached in a few minutes' walk in the opposite direction. This provides a clear contrast between the airport's immediate surroundings and a continuous green area. Central Stockholm can be reached in under twenty minutes by car or public transport. The combination of airport proximity, free parking and access to a shopping centre within walking distance makes the location versatile for a hotel outside the city limits, whether the visit concerns an overnight stay in connection with a flight, a longer conference assignment or a stop on the way into the city.

Bistro 46 – restaurant and bar for hotel guests and visitors

The restaurant is called Bistro 46, a name taken from the building's construction year of 1946. Bistro 46 welcomes both hotel guests and outside visitors from early morning to late evening and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu follows the seasons of the year with raw materials in focus, and the kitchen works without semi-finished products – stocks, broths and sauces are made from scratch. A breakfast buffet is included for all overnight guests, which is worth factoring in when comparing total costs with other hotels in the Stockholm region where breakfast is often an optional extra.

Lunch is served on weekdays and is arranged as a buffet with traditional Swedish home cooking. In connection with booked conferences, the restaurant also welcomes external guests to book tables for business lunch. In the evening, à la carte dinner is served seven days a week, and the hotel also has a bar where drinks are served in the evening. Room service is available for overnight guests.

For conference organisers who book overnight packages, a three-course dinner at Bistro 46 is included as part of the package, which simplifies logistics compared to ordering catering from outside. The wider restaurant offering in Bromma Blocks is within walking distance for those seeking more options during a longer stay. The restaurant thus functions both as an everyday dining place for passing travellers and as a natural gathering point for conference groups who end the day with dinner in the hotel's own premises, without having to leave the property.

Room categories from economy rooms to suite with balcony

The hotel has 202 rooms divided into several categories, and the differences between them are concrete enough to influence the choice depending on needs and budget. The economy rooms come in two variants: one with a skylight for natural light, located under the roof ridge with a single bed of 120 cm, and one without a window at all on the hotel's first floor with a double bed. These suit those who prioritise price and spend little time in the room, but guests who are sensitive to feeling confined should choose another category.

The standard rooms have two single beds of 90 cm each. The superior rooms have a king-size bed and windows with a view of Bromma Airport, and one variant of the superior category also has a balcony with the same view. The family room consists of two rooms with a door between them, with a king-size bed of 180 cm and two single beds of 90 cm as well as a shower – a solution that reduces the need to book adjoining rooms. The suite is located on the fifth floor and has a large south-facing balcony with a king-size bed and a bunk bed.

All rooms have individual air conditioning, flat-screen TV with Chromecast, coffee and tea maker, safe, hairdryer and blackout curtains. WiFi is included at no extra cost. For overnight guests, access to a gym and sauna as well as free parking outside the entrance are also included. Those sensitive to aircraft noise should confirm the room's location with the hotel before booking, as the property is in immediate proximity to the airport.

Sixteen conference rooms on the top floor with aircraft names on the halls

The conference department is located on the hotel's top floor, just under the roof ridge, and receives daylight through both side and roof windows in most spaces. The hotel has 16 conference rooms equipped with modern presentation technology, air conditioning and WiFi. The largest hall is called Boeing and measures 235 square metres with space for 180 participants in cinema seating. Boeing has TV screens along the side walls so that participants further back in the hall can follow the presentation, and the space can also be used for larger dinners and networking events.

Other halls are named after aircraft models: Falcon is 51 square metres and accommodates 40 participants in cinema seating. Fokker is 47 square metres and takes 30 in cinema seating. Cessna is a boardroom of 21 square metres for up to 10 people. Fairchild is the hotel's smallest boardroom with space for 7 participants. In addition, there is Piper with space for 12 in boardroom seating as well as a number of smaller meeting rooms for up to four to five people around a round table. The naming reflects the building's history and gives the conference facility a clear identity.

The conference facilities are Green Key certified. For conference organisers, free parking directly outside the hotel is a practical advantage, as is the proximity to Bromma Airport for participants flying in from other Swedish cities. The hotel has 24-hour reception, a business centre with computers for hotel guests and the possibility of express check-in and check-out. The ability to run parallel sessions in different halls on the same day makes the facility suitable for events with multiple programme items at the same time.
