About the hotel
Self-catering in a residential building on Danderydsgatan
Executive Living Östermalm Suite is not a hotel in the traditional sense but an apartment accommodation with separate units in a residential building at Danderydsgatan 7 in Östermalm. The facility is operated by Executive Living AB, a Swedish company that lets furnished corporate apartments in Stockholm. There is no staffed reception, no restaurant and no shared lounge. Check-in is private without personal contact upon arrival, which in booking systems is described as private or VIP check-in with key handover. Anyone seeking a hotel with round-the-clock service, a porter or conference facilities should choose different accommodation before booking.
The facility's strength is instead independence and a home-like environment. Each unit is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and kitchen utensils and crockery. There is also a washing machine in the unit, which makes the accommodation practical for longer stays where you want to keep down costs for laundry and restaurant visits. Bed linen and towels are included. Outside there is a patio with seating and a garden that is shared by the property.
The accommodation is marketed under the name Executive Living Östermalm Suite and also appears in booking systems under the variant Executive Living Oestermalm Suite And Studios. No verified name change or change of ownership could be established – it is the same address and the same unit description in all available sources. The facility is primarily suitable for guests who plan to cook for themselves, need to do laundry during their stay or prefer a more home-like accommodation over a standard hotel with associated services.
Two unit categories with clear differences in size and bed configuration
The accommodation offers two room categories with substantially different sizes and bed configurations. The larger unit is called Apartment and has two bedrooms – one with a queen-size bed and one with a bunk bed – and a living room with a sofa bed. The layout with bunk bed and sofa bed makes the unit suitable for families or groups, but means that the sleeping situation for the last guests is more of a compromise than in a hotel room with standard beds.
The smaller unit is called Deluxe Queen Studio and is approximately 23 square metres. It has a double bed and a futon. The studio is not an option for families with several children or for groups that need more sleeping places and more space.
Both units have parquet flooring, flat-screen TV with cable channels, private bathroom with walk-in shower, separate toilet, hairdryer, bath towels and complimentary toiletries. The kitchen is fully equipped in both categories. Neither room service nor breakfast is included in either category – there is no food service at the facility. The guest is entirely responsible for their own meals.
Anyone comparing the two categories should primarily base their decision on the size of the party and need for sleeping places: Apartment suits a larger group with a need for several separate sleeping areas, whilst Deluxe Queen Studio suits a small party. The facility has a total of these two bookable categories, which means limited flexibility if you need an extra room or want to change units during your stay.
Östermalm location with Humlegården and Stureplan within walking distance
Danderydsgatan 7 is located in the Östermalm district, one of Stockholm's more affluent residential areas with a mix of architecture, shops and restaurants. Humlegården, the large city park with the Royal Library at its edge, is approximately 400 metres from the property. Stureplan, which functions as a hub for restaurants and bars, is less than a kilometre's walk away. The Army Museum is nearby. The location makes it possible to explore a large part of the city centre on foot without needing to use public transport for short errands.
The public transport location is convenient for those who want to move further around the city. Royal Institute of Technology's underground station on the red line is approximately five to ten minutes' walk away, and the Runebergsplan bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. Stockholm Central Station is accessible on foot in approximately fifteen minutes, making it possible to take commuter trains to Arlanda without needing to change transport more than once. For those arriving by car, street parking is said to be available adjacent to the property, but availability may vary and should be confirmed before arrival.
Östermalm is not Stockholm's cheapest district as regards restaurants and grocery shopping. For guests planning to cook in the apartment, which is possible thanks to the fully equipped kitchen with, among other things, dishwasher, oven, microwave and coffee maker, it is worth planning grocery shopping in advance. The range of budget options is more limited here than in many other districts in Stockholm, something worth bearing in mind when planning your stay.
Practical terms: self-check-in, house rules and what is missing
Check-in takes place without a staffed reception and is described as private check-in in the booking systems, which means a self-service procedure with key handover. Check-out is set at 11.00 and check-in is possible from 15.00. These times should be confirmed directly with the host at booking as variations may occur. The facility observes quiet hours between 22.00 and 07.00, which is a house rule that follows from the accommodation being located in an ordinary residential building with other residents to consider.
Pets are not allowed. The accommodation does not accept stag parties or similar group arrangements, which is evident from the booking terms and is common for smaller apartment accommodations that want to avoid disturbance to neighbours. Smoking is not permitted in the premises and a smoke detector is installed. WiFi is free and included in all units. There is no room service, no breakfast service and no shared facilities such as restaurant, bar or spa. The guest is expected to manage their stay entirely independently.
Anyone needing daily cleaning, the option to order food to the room or access to a reception to sort out practical matters should expect that these services are not available on site. The accommodation is best suited for guests who are used to self-catering and who value kitchen equipment, laundry facilities and a central Östermalm location over hotel service. Contact with the host is via Executive Living AB's email address and telephone, details which can be found on the company's official website.
